Apples are available a plenty now a days. Apple and cinnamon with walnuts is a combo that is hard to resist. An Apple Cinnamon Walnut Tea Cake is perfect for this weather. It has moist crumb from apples and crunch from walnuts .

Use all ingredients at room temperature.
If using unsalted butter add 1/4 tsp salt to flour
Can also use a few walnuts along with apple slices to garnish.
Ingredients
All Purpose Flour 130 gms
Butter 85 gms
Baking Powder 1 tsp
Sugar 130 gms (I used raw sugar)
Eggs 2
Vanilla Extract 1 tsp
Milk 70 ml
Apple 1/2 cup pealed and chopped into small cubes
Walnuts 1/4 cup chopped into bite size pieces
Cinnamon Powder 1 tsp
Garnish
Apple few thin slices peeled
Method
Grease and line a 6" square or round tin with parchment paper.
Dust it with flour.
Beat butter and sugar till light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one by one and beat well after each addition.
Now add in vanilla extract.
Beat to mix in well.
Sieve the dry ingredients.
Add the dry ingrediens in 3 batches alternately with milk.
The first and last addition has to be dry ingredients.
Mix lightly with a spatula.
Toss the walnuts in a tsp of flour.
Add chopped apple and walnuts to the batter.
Mix lightly with a spatula.
Pour the batter in the prepared tin.
Smoothen the top.
Tap it twice on the counter.
Arrange a few apple slices.
Bake in a preheated oven at 170 degrees Celsius for 39-40 minutes.
Keep an eye after 35 minutes.
Do a skewer test to check doneness.
Skewer should come out clean.
Let it cool in the tin for 10 minutes.
Then invert it on a wire rack and let it cool completely before you cut it.
