Healthy, nutritious tea time partners. These Jeera cookies are crunchy and melt in your mouth. You can't stop at one. The good news is you don't have to. Indulge in these beauties without feeling guilty.
My Jeera Cookies are made with whole wheat flour, jowar flour and Oats with just a tsp of sugar. They are enriched with cold pressed organic coconut oil.
Ingredients
Whole wheat flour 60 gms
Jowar flour 30 gms
Oatsmeal 30 gms
Salt 1/4 tsp + 1/8 tsp
Sugar 2 tsp
Baking powder 1/2 tsp
Baking soda 1/2 tsp
Coconut oil 3 tbsp
Thick yogurt 3 1/2 tbsp
Jeera 1 tsp
Pepper pd 1/8 tsp
Method
Mix all the dry ingredients.
Now rub in the coconut oil.
You will get bread crumb like structure.
Add yogurt one tbsp at a time and bring the dough together.
We are looking for a soft non sticky dough which can be easily rolled.
Cover and let it rest for half an hour.
Keep the ball of dough on a parchment paper and using a rolling pin roll the dough into a 5 mm disc.
Using a cookie cutter cut desired shapes.
Place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 15-17 minutes.
Let them cool on the baking sheet only.
Once completely cool, transfer them into an airtight container.
I have just joined the group A-Z recipe challenge. This is season 2. In this we will be making recipes with Hindi names of ingredients. For this month , it is alphabet J. So I have chosen Jeerra aka Cumin seeds as my star ingredient.
